Exercises for Back Pain Relief with Our Savannah Chiropractor

5 Exercises for Back Pain Relief

Always warm up your back with 5 to 10 minutes of full body movements such as walking before you perform the exercises.

Pelvic Tilts - Stand with your back against a wall and your feet approximately 1 foot from the base. Tilt your hips to press your lower back into the wall, then relax and create a lower back curve. Aim to complete 1 to 3 sets of 10 to 12 repetitions.

Upper Back Stretch - Clasp your hands together in front of you with your arms straight. Raise your hands to shoulder height. Turn your palms away from you and around your upper back forward. Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 seconds.

Knees to Chest - Lie face up and bring both knees toward your chest. Hold onto the backs of your legs and maintain the stretch for 30 seconds.

Two Knee Twist - From the knees to chest position, lower both knees to your right side. Rest your arms on the floor outstretched from your shoulders. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and repeat toward the left.

Spinal Balance - Begin on your hands and knees with your back straight. Raise and extend your right arm and left leg. Release, then raise and extend your left arm and left leg. Release, and complete 1 to 3 sets of 10 to 12 repetitions.
